Oh lord, getting to sleep last night took FOREVER. Every little bump I heard from the upstairs apartments or the heater jolted me out of sleep. Every thought of some little critter landing on the Mint Chocolate Chip Mobile and setting the alarm off made me freak. I was even convinced I'd left the stove burners on, and got up to make sure I'd turned the stove off. (That's not a new worry for me - I used to get up in the middle of the night when I was a kid and check to make sure Mom'd turned the burners off, because I was afraid the house would burn down) I swear, if my anxiety gets to me again tonight, I may have to take sleeping pills. It was that annoying.

I made it through night one safely, thank God. I think I needed to calm down, and while sometimes I could pretend that Bunzilla was Bryan, Bunzilla's got a much bigger ass than Bry does. (I should post a picture of Bunzilla for all my Dreamwidth friends, so they can see him. He's awesome.) At least I had something to cuddle, something to occupy the other side of the bed, because aside from one night where I got mad at Bryan and slept on the couch, this is the first time in a year I've slept alone for any length of time.

I think this is going to take some getting used to.

Ah well. I have coffee, and an egg bagel that came all the way from Long Island so I could eat it, and I have a list of things to do today, so I won't have any down points while the sun is up, that's for sure. :)

*empathizes* I've done it before, but MY Bryan is gone, too! He's gone to Hot Springs for a teacher continuing education thingy. It took me forever to get to sleep last night, so of course Ganon woke up and came and jumped in bed with me at 7:30. -_- *headdesk*

Not nearly so long as 3 weeks. This training lasts until Wednesday. My main point of sad is that he's in Hot Springs, which is a town I very much love to visit. I love taking the bus everywhere, walking around the Historic State Park portion of town (it's incredible; my Flickr stream has tons of pictures), seeing all the local stuff. I just love local, unique shops & restaurants and my city has hardly any. Hot Springs has TONS, and the historic district has nothing BUT local stuff. I guess more than depressed at his absence...I'M FREAKING JEALOUS! ^o^

Anyway, he'll be back on Wednesday night. What is this 3 week thing your Bryan is going on?

I don't believe I've seen that Hot Springs then. All I've seen is a town of decaying buildings and people. When I was there, on tour with a jazz band 2 years ago, we were assaulted in our hotel by a prostitute and her drug dealing pimp... and their friends.. who brought guns. They were trying to break down the doors of our rooms because one of the new band members erroneously asked the girl what kind of entertainment there was in the town. Apparently that qualified as a business transaction and we now owed them money for the conversation.

Cue none of us sleeping and barracading ourselves inside our respective rooms and calling the police multiple times.

Also while we were there we couldn't seem to walk one block without being solicited to purchase drugs or help some old guy light his joint.. all this was on main street in broad daylight.

But really it's amazing how nice the audience was at the theater. I can't believe how many sweet little old ladies live in that town.

So how exactly did I miss all the nice parts?

...WOW. Seriously? Bryan goes to Hot Springs for training all the time (the Arkansas School for Math, Science & the Arts is in Hot Springs), and we have NEVER had anything like that kind of experience. Dang. I'm sorry you guys apparently saw the awful portion of the town. It's mainly a retirement kinda place, which does explain the sweet little old ladies, at least.

Where did you stay in Hot Springs? Because ASMSA is in the historic district, we stayed on Central Avenue in the Springs hotel, near the Arlington, a block from Bathhouse Row. I'm not sure I ever even saw Main Street, unless I was on a bus. I definitely never saw any prostitutes, pimps, or old dudes with joints. I saw a lot of old dudes riding the bus who had "support public transportation" pins on.

you'll get so used to sleeping alone, and so happy to be able to sprawl over the bed, that when Bryan gets back you won't be able to sleep.

(trust me, I've been there. ^_^)

I hate being without my husband, so I totally understand how you feel. Three weeks is a long time :(

If I lived closer I'd come over and keep you company!
