delphi sums it up here as to why I'm glad I jumped ship on LJ. Dreamwidth hasn't thrown me for any loops for the year I've been here, or made me headdesk because they've done something ridiculous. I'm happy to be here, especially with all the friends I've made here that I probably wouldn't have made otherwise. I hope whoever makes it here from LJ enjoys themselves, and feels welcome here.

In other words, I now have three jobs, and Bryan has five. Granted, one of them is dinky, and one of them neither of us is getting paid for, but we have access to about a million video games and all sorts of computery bits. Our office is a wreck, but an awesome wreck. I'll have to post a picture of it at some point. There's even an arcade unit maybe 30 feet away from my office. This place rocks.

But yeah, either I will be dead at the end of the semester, or I will be SUPERWOMAN OMG.

I sort of saw that - I hate Facebook and kind of am used to that from them (but haven't QUITE decided to delete my account yet), and I am really thinking about deleting my LJ account. It's way too much work to pay attention to it all the time when things of interest to me rarely happen. Bleh. I love that with Dreamwidth I'm NEVER freaking out that they're about to take away my privacy.

I only use my LJ account to follow a few communities, and I'm still considering deleting it and any other accounts I have there that I remember the passwords to. Ugh. LJ + FB = a recipe for disaster.

I'm voting for Superwoman too - I might draw myself as a superhero, and stick it on my office wall, heheh, as a reminder that what doesn't kill me will make me an effing superhero. XD

I saw your posts over at LJ and I figured you look like an interesting person to get to know--we have a shared interest in anime/sailormoon too, so that's something.

I'm still on LJ for the comms at the moment but if people leave and the comms I'm on go silent I suppose I'll have to delete my LJ. I rather like it here, it doesn't feel like this site's soul has been sold.

Anyways, just wanted to pop by and say hi. Wow, I think that rhymed a little bit.

Yeah, Dreamwidth makes an effort not to sell their soul. Earlier in the spring, whoever DW was working with to take payments (I can't remember if it was Paypal or Google) decided that because they allow adult content and all sorts of fandom-related things that aren't allowed on LJ (the whole story is here), and instead of saying "whelp, no more naughty stuff for you guys", they went and found someone different to take payments. Twice, in fact. DW sticks up for its users and their rights! :D

So, anyways, welcome! :D
