The 2000s: A Decade in Review
*Think back to ten years ago on this month.
*Write truthful answers and ELABORATE. This makes it more interesting!
*It's about personal changes. Have fun with it!

Then: December 1999

1. Age: 17

2. Romantic Status: I was dating Joe Deutschman. Wow. Can't believe it's been 10 years.

3. Occupation: Senior in high school, with a brief stint as a camp counselor.

4. Fun night out: Going to the mall with Joe, or going over to Erin's to watch movies my mom would never have let me watch.

5. My BFFs: Erin, Sunny, Ruth, Jenny, Alex, James, Amy, Sapphire

6. I spent way too much time: Watching Sailor Moon.

7. I spent not enough time: uhh... watching Sailor Moon. XD

8. I wanted to be when I grew up: A teacher.

9. Biggest concern: Getting grounded. I got grounded for just about everything back then.

10. What my biggest concern should have been: My grades in school.

11. Where did I live: In the little white house across the street from the lake, at 120 Barton Rd.

12. Dumbest thing I did that year: I think it had to have been bogging down the school's servers with loads and loads of Sailor Moon pictures, saved to my computer account. Sunny did the same thing - we just thought we had unlimited storage, but then Mrs. Vargason came to us and said "Uh, you girls need to delete all those pictures, you're bogging down our servers. If you don't get rid of them, I'll get rid of them for you." We freaked and uploaded them all to Angelfire. XD

13. If I could go back now and talk to myself I would say: Dump Joe. It'll save you many years of heartbreak and stupidity. Also, don't go near James. It'll save you more years of stupidity. Apply to a college that you actually want to go to, not the one that's nearest the guy you're dating at the time. Also, learn to drive. Also, Sailor Moon is not a phase, you will not ever grow out of it, so don't listen to Mom in that respect.

14. Picture of myself then: .... lemme see if I can find one.

Oh, here we go!

Now: December 2009

1. Age: 27

2. Romantic Status: Facebook would probably read "It's Complicated with Bryan Hoey" if I had the guts to change it. I mean, yeah, we're engaged, but it sure as hell doesn't feel like it.

3. Occupation: Soon to be unemployed computer lab minion.

4. Fun night out: Getting pizza at Little Italy with Bryan, or hanging out with Tara.

5. My BFFs: Rin, Tara... and yeah, I think that's it.

6. I spend way too much time: Worrying about friggin' everything.

7. I spend not enough time: Working. Or watching Sailor Moon.

8. I want to be when I grow up: Employed.

9. Biggest concern: Money. Not irritating my roommates. Telling my older sister that I'm not her free babysitter.

10. What my biggest concern should be: Money. Finding a damn job.

11. Where do I live: 120 miles away from 120 Barton Rd., in a bluish house with purple trim with some awesome people and awesome pets.

12. Dumbest thing I have done this year: Support Bryan monetarily, probably. I would be doing so much better financially if I hadn't had to support him all summer and early fall.

13. What I think I would say to myself in 10 years: You shouldn't have worried so much. Teaching was a dumb decision, and it's a good thing you realized that before you actually finished your degree. Your friends do care about you, you need to stop worrying that they'll get upset with you over nothing.

14. Picture of me now:

Summary:

1. What do I miss most from 1999: My family, my friends, and my Nintendo 64.

2. What do I miss least from 1999: Joe.

3. What have I accomplished in 10 years that I am most proud of: Uh, graduating college. It only took me 8 years! :D

4. What have I NOT accomplished in 10 years that I wish I had: Graduated earlier. Gotten married. Gotten a real job.
